NBC Sports analyst Pierre McGuire, like many other NHL commentators these days, has a great spot to work during games, as he’s stationed between the two benches.
That plot of real estate, called “Inside the Glass” by NBC Sports Network, allows McGuire to be close to the action and pick up the feel of what’s going on during play and on the player benches and relate that to the folks back home.
It also can put him in a dangerous spot, as it did during Monday night’s game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning when a puck came extremely close to hitting him square in the head.
Check out just how close he came to being in a world of pain:
McGuire raised his hands after the puck flew by, but later took it in stride.
“It’s all part of what goes on down here,” he said.
