Giants outfielder arrested on suspicion of DUI

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — San Francisco Giants outfielder Cameron Maybin has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Arizona.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Maybin, 31, had a blood-alcohol level of .142, almost twice the legal limit of .08.
Maybin was detained around 2:30 a..m. on Friday in Scottsdale, the team’s spring training home, according to a police report. An officer described him as smelling of alcohol and having bloodshot eyes.
He told officers he had consumed five glasses of wine earlier at a restaurant.

He was subsequently placed under arrest and taken to jail, where police drew a blood sample. He was cited and released two hours later.
In a statement, the team said it was monitoring the situation but had no further comment.
Maybin’s arrest was the second off-field incident involving the Giants in the past week.
Giants chief executive officer Larry Baer took a leave of absence on Monday after video surfaced of a physical incident with his wife.
Major League Baseball said it was looking into the Baer incident.
