SportsPulse: NFL draft guru Nate Davis predicts where the top QBs land and the team that is likely to use their draft capital to trade for Josh Rosen.
Another quarterback domino might be falling in the NFL offseason.
The Washington Redskins are in discussion to acquire Case Keenum from the Denver Broncos in a trade, a person with knowledge of the talks told USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussion remained ongoing.
Keenum, 31, would provide a stopgap solution for the Redskins to compete with Colt McCoy should incumbent starter Alex Smith not be ready to return after suffering a broken tibia and fibula on Nov. 18 against the Houston Texans and undergoing multiple surgeries.
Keenum became expendable in Denver after the team agreed to acquire veteran Joe Flacco from the Baltimore Ravens. Keenum is currently due $18 million for the 2019 season, but only $7 million is guaranteed.
In his lone year as starter for the Broncos, Keenum threw for 3,890 yards and 18 touchdowns with 15 interceptions.
